I've learned how easy and hard it is to establish self direction through our Higher Mind. Hard because there are many things that can impede our direct line to the Universe that provides our inner wisdom. Just like radio frequencies, there are many thoughts and beliefs in society that can interfere with our true frequency.
There are societal expectations of us, opinions of friends, family and co-workers as well as our own beliefs that can hinder our thinking to guide us. Many times we are directed by our emotions and react even in ways that we know are destructive, especially to ourselves. We need to trust that we are the expert of ourselves and that we must trust in the Universe to speak to us through our Higher Mind to act in our best interests.
On the other hand, the concept of establishing higher self direction is easy. It is the practice that is difficult. The easy part is in knowing that there is one univeral mind that speaks directly to us and that it is essential to at least be aware and always keep that line of communication open through daily meditation, prayer, visualization and conscious awareness. It is an important muscle that must be stretched every day.
