Lessons in life have taught me to consciously look beyond our physical forms from a superficial stand point and look deeper to what we truly are – energy. Each person is made up of energy which, in essence, makes us all the same from a 'function' perspective. It is only our physical form, our experiences and our names that separate us.
I see now how extremely important our conscious and subconscious thoughts are and how much of an impact these thoughts have in all aspects of our lives around the world. Our spiritual mind is 'the' universal language. This language does not provide barriers in understanding. We underestimate the powerful magnetism we possess within our minds. It reminds me of that saying, “Be careful what you wish for”. When something happens to us we tend to look at it as some external source that bestowed upon us rather than our connection to a God Power. We do not usually see or acknowledge the role we play in the manifestations in our lives.
Learning how the conscious and the subconscious minds actually work makes it easier to understand why and how certain things in life come to be. For instance, we cannot be superficially positive in our conscious thinking without the subconscious working on the same level. That is to say that we cannot say one thing and do another. When subconscious thought patterns emerge we must be conscious of it and refuse to accept it as true. New thought patterns in our subconscious mind must be created with the help of the conscious mind.
We are a 'quick fix' society and most expect results now. Thought patterns in the subconscious mind are established over many years so it makes sense that it takes time to establish new ones. These thoughts patterns are so entrenched that we react to everyday events and people without even having to think about it. They have become second nature so to speak.
I have always known and realized just how possible it is to change and that realization is very enlightening, comforting and freeing. We must step out of the fog and be more conscious and aware of how we project our energy to the world and that the way we project this energy determines the quality of our lives. Remember.....thoughts become things.

Daddy, where's your vagina?
I just finished reading a book that I couldn't put down. You know the kind. When you're reading it, you're completely into it and when you're not reading it, you're thinking about reading it. "I know what you mean" you say to yourself.
That book is called, "Daddy, where's your vagina?" written by Joe Schatz. He's a stay-at-home dad to 3 girls. What I loved about it is he "gets it" and he makes it easy for anyone to "get it". What do I mean? Well, you know all those books out there about kids and parenting that make you yawn? This one delivers the same information (and then some) but in a way that you can relate to, that makes you laugh and acknowledge the purpose of parenting - to be all embracing of it.
All kids (and wives for that matter) should be so lucky to have a dad like Joe Schatz. He takes the ups and downs in stride and takes pride in his family like no one I've ever met or read about actually. Even if you've already made it through the diaper and toddler stage, I still recommend reading this book. It's not only about parenting, it's about life.
Joe Schatz, aka, Joeprah writes a blog about his adventures of being a stay-at-home dad for other dads that stay at home or are comtemplating staying home with their kids. You can visit his website at http://www.joeprah.com/ and next Tuesday, March 30 at 1pm Eastern you can listen to Joe who will be a guest on my radio show "Family Focus" on BlogTalkRadio.
Get the book, listen to the show and if you can't listen live, you can always go back later and download an MP3 recording of it to listen to and share with your friends and family members with kids.
See you Tuesday!

Establishing Supernatural Self-Direction
I've learned how easy and hard it is to establish self direction through our Higher Mind. Hard because there are many things that can impede our direct line to the Universe that provides our inner wisdom. Just like radio frequencies, there are many thoughts and beliefs in society that can interfere with our true frequency.
There are societal expectations of us, opinions of friends, family and co-workers as well as our own beliefs that can hinder our thinking to guide us. Many times we are directed by our emotions and react even in ways that we know are destructive, especially to ourselves. We need to trust that we are the expert of ourselves and that we must trust in the Universe to speak to us through our Higher Mind to act in our best interests.
On the other hand, the concept of establishing higher self direction is easy. It is the practice that is difficult. The easy part is in knowing that there is one univeral mind that speaks directly to us and that it is essential to at least be aware and always keep that line of communication open through daily meditation, prayer, visualization and conscious awareness. It is an important muscle that must be stretched every day.

Metaphysical Principles of Winning
You often hear people say, "Life isn't fair". Without realizing it, they are placing themselves in the position of Them v. Life, which creates a patern of thinking negatively. They are waiting for bad things to happen to confirm their belief. These souls will never win at life, unless they expand their minds and change their beliefs.
It is true that we are naturally drawn to winners. It inspires us to be creative and it makes us feel good, but inspiration, just like motivation, only lasts so long and eventually fades. Surrounding ourselves with winners helps to keep us continuously motivated so that we are inspired to act upon those feelings. When we feed the Higher Mind, it expands and allows thoughts and creativity to flow and inspires action.
When we make mistakes and consciously learn from them it automatically drives us to get back up on that horse and move forward. When we continue to do that and we achieve our goals, life shows us our abilities and I believe, our true selves.
It is interesting to me that many believe in God, or the like, but do not believe in themselves. They are either forgetting or not realizing how inter-connected the two are. They believe they are winning when God is smiling down on them. Winning is our true nature, what we are meant to do and it is the higher power within us that shines through.
I believe that I have learned that an important part of winning in life is being aware of our thoughts and actions and how they relate to the events in our lives. We've all had times when things are going great and everything we touch turns to gold and the opposite is true as well. When one thing goes wrong, everything seems to go wrong. We must be aware of our thoughts and actions during these times because it is our Higher Mind trying to tell us something. Maybe it's time to stop and listen.

Higher Thinking
I love analogies because they make concepts clearer and easier to understand. One analogy comes to mind when thinking about "Higher Thinking".
The basis for who we are is like building a house. If we were all given the exact materials needed to build our house from the foundation up, would all the houses end up looking the same? No they wouldn't because everyone has a different perception of what it would look like for them.
It's the same with our conscious and subconscious mind and our relationship with our Higher Mind. We are all given the tools of wisdom and one true reality with a strong foundation or faith in something greater with an ability to tap into that faith, but the key is in how we build that foundation and the attitude we use to maintain it.
I believe that faith in something greater than ourselves (not religion, unless that is your preference), is the key to our attitude because it provides trust so that we may carry on through ups and downs. It provides the knowing that we are not alone and that this is true for everyone. This is the building block upon which we build our beliefs and create our thought patterns. Without this understanding one can become their own worst enemy.
Your attitude and how you project it is like ordering in a resturarant (here's the analogy thing again). If you are grumpy and rude with the server, chances are you will not receive the service you desire, as opposed to being pleasant. What you will receive from the Universe into your life is directly related to the manner in which you asked, thought and acted. It makes sense because as we all learned, like attracts like. We must reflect what we want to attract.
Again, it is our conscious and subconscious mind that work together with our higher God mind, if you will, to create the attitude we desire and, most importantly, need for our over all well-being. The subconscious mind works under the cover of darkness so we must use our conscious mind to bring light to open and expand it so our limited beliefs and thoughts have no where to hide.

Eliminating Weakness
I am continuously reminded that we are much greater than what we appear and that it is our God-given right to be successful and all that we can be. However, many times we are not. It's interesting to me that for such evolved creatures we seem to be no better off than God's other creatures. We do not flow as easily allowing perfection to replace abberations, but we are provided with a conscious mind so that we are able to remove the weakness that is given so much power within our lives.
As difficult as it seems at times, we must endeavor to remember that the Universal Power within us will always be greater and is there to help us overcome our self-defeating attitudes. We must break the habit and replace it with a new one and stop giving it power. It is essential that we allow the power within to shine brighter than the weakness.
This reminds me of those that are jailed or held captive that use their energy for their greater good rather than dwell or focus on the situation they face and become buried alive by it. Their positive efforts eventually take them beyond their situation and closer to their own God power within.
Confrontation within us is just as powerful as it is without and makes absolute sense. We see interventions with those affected by drugs and how they are confronted by others pointing out the negative and damaging affects of their disease. You can see that the one affected craves a better existence, but is stuck in their cloud of beliefs and feel powerless to overcome it. Once they are confronted, surrender and take action they move closer to a more successful life.
Confronting our pain, weaknesses or fears rather than running away from it, ignoring it or pushing it down inside ourselves, allows us to overcome it. What we resist, persists. Face them, acknowlege them and then send them away.

Meditation for Success
Meditation - one of the best ways to keep the lines of communication open to our Higher Self. It also solidifies the concept of something "bigger than myself".
Like anything, meditation as a means to keep connected to who we truly are, can be learned and become second nature. As the saying goes, "practice makes perfect". It is easier to continually "practice" meditation as a way of connecting to our True Self than it is to stop and start again. Sometimes we have intentions of doing something that will take us deeper in our lives, but then it tapers off and we eventually stop. Beginning something new is always difficult and takes adjustment, but if we continue daily and push through the down times we become stronger and more confident. Eventually it becomes our reality.
It is difficult to go against the grain of society even if it is something we believe in and I now believe there are three things that can help us succeed:

- Remember that, although we are all one with each other, everyone's reality is different so you must do what is right for you when it comes to connecting with your True Self.
- As sure as you are in your doubts, you can turn it around and become equally as sure in your abilities.
- Although it may be challenging at times, remember that you are not alone. Our soul is always with us, waiting to inspire us to turn our thoughts into things.
